    Daypenam Injection is used in the treatment of Meningitis which is an inflammation of the protective membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Neisseria meningitidis.

  • Skin and structure Infection

    Daypenam Injection is used in the treatment of skin and structure infections like cellulitis, wound infections caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus.

  • Intra-abdominal Infection

    Daypenam Injection is used in the treatment of intra-abdominal infections like caused by Escherichia coli and Klebsiella.

  • Pneumonia

    Daypenam Injection is used in the treatment of Pneumonia which is a common type of lung infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae.

  • Allergy

    Avoid if you have a known allergy to Daypenam Injection or any Carbapenem and Beta-lactam Antibiotics like penicillins and cephalosporins. Seek immediate medical attention if the patient experiences any allergic symptoms like rash, itching, nausea or vomiting, swelling of lips, hands, and feet.

  • Drug-resistance

    Usage of Daypenam Injection without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.

  • Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea

    Avoid if you experience severe diarrhea after receiving Daypenam Injection. As antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora in the large intestine which promotes the growth of bacteria called Clostridium difficile.

  • Seizures

    Daypenam Injection may cause seizures and other central nervous system disturbances. Use with caution in the patients with a history of seizures or any brain infections.

  • Pediatric use

    The safety and efficacy of Daypenam Injection is not established in children less than 3 months of age.

  • Impaired kidney function

    Use with caution the patients with the kidney injury. Dose adjustments are to be made if CrCl is less than 50 ml/min.
